Fishing report

6/26/09 P.M.

6/22/09

Not hearing any real good reports from up north we decided to fish south and out deep from Ludington harbor. On the way out there was no temp change until we hit the 44 line, and then it was just a couple of tenths cooler. We dropped two degrees when we hit the 46's, but I kept going until we hit the 48's. We had 60 degrees on the surface and 47 degrees down 45 feet on the probe. We put the auto pilot on a 250 and proceeded to put out eighteen lines. We had lines set from the surface down to 45 feet. Our deepest core was a 10 color. As we moved out the down temp dropped to 41 degrees down 45 feet so we yanked the 10 color and replaced it with a 8 color core. We trolled four miles without a bite. Eighteen lines and no bites, it looked grim. When we hit the 53 line west we got our first bite, a nice Steelhead on a Slide diver out 85' with a SS Bumble Bee. We hit a couple more fish on that troll so we turned around when we hit the 55's west. We worked between the 55's and 53's west and the 52's & 50's south and took three more Steelhead, a Laker & a real nice Coho. We missed a couple of fish too. All our hits were on Dreamweaver SS Spoons except the Laker. He hit a Mini Spin Doctor with a Snow Man Action fly 60 out on a low wire. Our best core was our two color rigs. They had two hits each. One had a SS Star Burst and the other was a SS SOG. Our Slide Divers hit three fish also. The Coho came on a SS Mixed Veggie slider on an out down set at 28 ft.
